This is a hard post because I don't like when one of our beloved female spirits need to be taken off tap to forever live as "a pet" ...but this sweet girl deserves it. I had hoped to pair her with a few other males because her cocktails are pretty high in proof, but her body was going into heat almost every 7 days. Contrary to what NEW BREEDERS try to feed your heads... maine coons are not dogs. SURPRISE. Dogs go into heat 1-3 times a year. Generally having 1 litter a year. Cats however are meant to bred more. My cats go into heat every 2-6 weeks. When not bred, they run a risk of getting pyometra which can escalate super-fast and become life threatening in a matter of hours. Did you not know this? Well, I'm not surprised because maine coon boards are filled with newer breeders who have their youth and along that... a loud voice. The one where they feel if they speak over everyone else... you will believe them over many years of experience. Some Karen felt in their head it made sense that cats should only be bred once a year and anything more is unethical. The science behind it? Oh there is none... While those who have bred for 20+ years and have proven healthy lines have never practiced this. The Feline Husbandry book which I think of as "The Bible" of cat breeding explains why cats should be bred more, and why this works better for them. So I debated breeding White Russian again since she had 5 heats before Mardi Gras turned 8 weeks old which told me her body wanted to ride a bull like young cowgirl who's got something to prove...but I kept thinking she will just go into heat like this after she delivers again, and while I love that this is Soju's favorite girl to mount weekly... I felt retirement was better for her body in the long run.

She is 2 years old and longing more than anything to sleep in someone's arms and spend the day in front of a window that has frequent bird or squirrel visitors. So much so that I am making it a requirement to send me a picture of your living room window or bedroom where she will spend most of her days. She loves a cat tower in front of a window, long or low ledge to sit on OR a cat bed that suctions on a window so she can talk to the daily visitors.

If you're looking for a family pet... she is not for you. She keeps her circle small. She is someone that will be scared at first in a new home and will need patience and work to pull her out of her shell. She does not like one of my sons because he comes at her with elephant feet stomping loudly and with hands that look like they're trying to trap her. However, she loves everyone else at the bar. She adores my girls and I because we treat her like she's a rare diamond and constantly tell her she's beautiful. She loooves being told she's beautiful lol ...she meows and gives I love you eyes a lot.

So she'd prefer a quiet home and even more one where you are home a lot. She needs you to prove that you're someone who will never hurt her before stops running away from you. Then she never will and attaches to you like glue and will live for long conversations daily ....and to be frank, nightly too if you allow her. She's a BIG lover. When you say her name and she's feeling the love, she always responds back... then tries to con you into rubbing her by dropping wherever she's at and flipping on her back. She wants to be your 24-7 test subject for you to practice your massage techniques on. A home with small kids or very busy lifestyle is not her vibe.

If applying, you will need to send a picture of your home (particularly the room she will be spending most of her time). I will literally need a picture of your window. That's not a joke. My maine coons get what they deserve and nothing less. I think she can handle a calm dog and even another cat, but if your existing cat is very dominant... it will make it hard for her to feel comfortable enough to get on your bed at night. If you didn't want a cat on your bed, she's not for you. She lives to be held. I will need you to tell me who all lives in your home and how often you will be home. What existing pets you have and anything that may be pertinent to me picking the right home for her. Her bar tab will be $600. Please email with any questions and send your pics and interest to mitchcoontails@hotmail.com

EDITED:

SHE HAS FOUND HER HOME. We found the perfect window and bar for her to live out her days in. We were blessed many worthy bars with huge windows that have constant visitors interested in her.

Thank you for prioritizing her needs over the Bars.

Thank you again for advocating for the particulars she needs and deserves. This is right and good!

Someone will be so so blessed with her and will be a blessing to her!

Oh how I wish! The retired two of us, no pets at the moment, very quiet and huge wall of windows with squirrels and birdies to watch! But alas, mom and dad are quite elderly and at the moment, we must remain a bit more flexible to be able to meet their needs, rather than love on a beautiful fluff ball for now. I wish!!!
