MOVING Forward - Why Our Facebook Page Went Down - Mitcha Coontails

Since our Facebook bar got shut down, ALL happy hours and house updates now live here. No surprise Happy Hours... they will always be announced (in our stories on IG/FB and on our website) WELL before last call.

If you haven't moved over: FOLLOW OUR NEW PAGE: http://facebook.com/mitchacoontails2

Bar talk: I had already cut down on my booze talk (tragic, I know) because I was being flagged for selling alcohol (last year) and a month ago, I got penalized on Tiktok for just saying, “its Happy Hour” with nothing in the caption but a collage of kitten pics. So, I will leave the drunken posts and rowdy bar fights for our website only, and I’d appreciate the same from y’all ...turns out the comments are what ultimately shut me down. :(

Why our FB page with 90k followers went down:

So here is… got to actually talk to meta as to why my facebook page was taken down since I have never done any of the triggers (available, looking for a home, etc):

It was a combination of things.

1. I always post cat pics (not a trigger in itself BUT when combined with the rest of the reasons below)

2. Several back-to-back viral clips drawing attn to me.

Combined with:

3. The comments inferring I had something on tap. The nonstop “how do I get one” type of comments pushed things over the edge…. 😞

I already had my moderation assist weeding out the obvious words that trigger (price, how much?, for sale, available, etc). It just wasn’t enough…

I was told Meta does not only look at what you post. They also look at:

 • Comment patterns

 • Repeated transactional language

 • Volume and frequency of price-related keywords

So they said it was not because I was guilty — but because Meta’s systems are pattern-based, not intent-based. My page hit a risk threshold, and once I crossed it, those auto bots don't play fair....

You have no idea how devastated I am to know I followed all the rules but am being punished BIG TIME by the "noise" on my page. It’s brutal, and it’s not applied evenly with other pages that are similar.

What I need from YOU is to show up. Like my new posts... comment if you're feeling compelled to help steady the tap and continue to share my content. 🙏

Also, DO NOT comment with trigger words:

It’s annoying. It’s extra labor. Trust me, I hate it too ...but if we want the bar to stay open, I need HELP.

Until then, always check out our What's Available on Tap tab... I update it frequently with "What's Ahead""

I’m sure it was a conjoined effort of all your fans. I can’t help but think my “happy hour! Happy hour!” Message didn’t help and for that I’m sorry.

But for real - Hh!

One of those beautiful babies needs to live near “The Biggest Little City” where the sound of slot machines lulls babies to sleep and “Last Call is so California”.

Love what you do Leanne and the bar backs.

So sorry this happened to you, Leanne. What a shame, and ridiculous of META to behave this way. I will continueto follow you and your glorious cats on your website. Best regards always, and hugs.❤️❤️❤️ Mary Leventon

So sorry you’ve had to deal with this headache! It’s a shame Meta won’t just let people enjoy their top shelf fix in peace. I’ve got one of Barista’s gorgeous pours snoozing at my feet while I type this… He’s a dream and has us scheming up reasons to come back to the bar.
