Adult Polydactyl Maine Coon looking for her new Bar - Houston, Texas
Updated: Jul 29
UPDATE: SHE HAS FOUND HER BAR.
Okay, many of you have been regularly emailing me wanting to know when this amazing LARGE girl will go up... well her time is here.
This girl needs a lot... because she is a lot and makes no excuses for it.
She is an alpha girl who has done her time in the MMA ring... (and she always wins), so... she won't be ideal for other alpha pets or pets who scream I'm afraid... She will eat them up and spit parts back up just so she can reminisce about her effortless victory. She gets along with many of our cats.... and it's because they know to walk on eggshells BUT NOT show her you're walking on eggshells around her.
Ewww... so she's mean? NEVER said that... she just wants to wear the pants, shirt, tiara, and hold the talking stick until it's bedtime. She is perfect around humans. She's actually a sweet girl but when you're in a house where everything is run by pack mentality rules... she has always positioned herself at the top.
She does demand trust and for you to come to her to pick her up and bring her on your lap until she knows you can be trusted. Once you've earned that, she is very sweet... will come to sit on you and come for love. She greets everyone in our home (that she knows). If you ignore her though... she will happily spend her day obsessing over the birds, squirrels, and geckos outside.
"Obsessing" is a good word to describe everything she does.
She needs someone with hands... she ONLY drinks water from the sink. I mean literally not 70 or 90% of the time. We've tried everything and somewhere along the way... this became a thing and then her only thing. She will scream for you to turn on the sink whenever you are near. She doesn't want someone who doesn't mind to do it at first but then will need her to find a different source... she needs you to get off your butt and give it to her now (and she will 100% make sure you know this).
She also thinks she's part dog because she fetches more than any cat we've had. OBSESSED. She has to like you... so I will say she won't ask just anyone... lol, but if she does... she will spend her day finding mice just to hand to you to throw. Again... and again. and chirp each time when you take too long or she needs you to see what a good job she did finding it.
(pictured above is her a few days ago in her summer coat)
If you are interested, you will need to fill out the below with EVERY PIC requested ...and email it to mitchacoontails@hotmail.com
Full name:
Your address (full address with city, state, and zipcode)
Phone Number?
How do you plan on picking her up?
Will she in indoor, indoor/outdoor, outdoor pet?
Do you have working hands? If I don't believe you, I may ask for a pic ;) This is pretty important as she needs her fresh water from the sink and a working hand to throw her mice/spring toys as it's her favorite thing to do.
What about a working bathroom sink? Show me a pic of the one she will most likely use...
You will also need to provide a pic of the room she will most likely spend her day keeping in mind she loves to look out your window.
I will also need a pic of the person who wants to love her forever and your family
How often are you home and/or gone? She will honestly be fine if you do work during the day. She is independent but prefers to be in the same room as her person. Again, working is fine.
List your pets and breeds? How do you think she will get along with them?
She only eats a specific food. Will you be willing to get this (and show me if selected) no matter the cost
Will you be willing to get a water fountain for her in hopes she may use it because you are gone for an extended period?
Are you willing to waste water as she does a lot of just looking at the sink running before deciding if it's just perfect for her lips ....or not.
What happens if you find her to be high maintenance ...because she is? Are you hoping to do a trial run?
What is your experience with cats?
Anyone at home that is allergic and if so, what is the plan?
If she needs medical care, do you have the means and funds for this? No maine coon is cheap.... not even kind of.
