Yes, you can apply for Angus but you must fill out ALL the questions below and read this note.
Angus Young was meant to be part of the future here at Mitcha Coontails… I rarely feel a male is good enough which is why I have only kept one male ever - HIS DADDY. I am the worst kind of buyer... everything has to be perfect in a place where there is no perfect.
He is the son of Cuba Libre… one of the most unforgettable males to ever walk through this bar and now officially retired. This decision was not an easy one, but I do have other plans in the works ...like two new males.
What matters now is finding the right home.
Angus is a purr machine and sweet ...mixed in with extreme panther packaging. He also happens to be VERY unaware of his own strength.
This boy plays like he means business at times... for this reason, he is not right for a home with small children.
A spring toy? A mouse? He’ll happily entertain himself for long stretches BUT loves to have a playmate. A playmate that will either put him in check and say "you're being too rough... let me knock some sense into you" or a playmate who also plays rough. For him, he has Ms. Bartles N Jaymes... they play rough all the time. He is in the process of learning how to play nicely with firm NO's when he bites too hard. You can tell he never means it... and quickly stops ...he's just ...as I said... unaware of his strength, so a passive owner is not the best one.
He loves laying in my lap to sleep and never stops purring. When I walk around to do chores, he is often right next to me.
What he is ....is a one of a kind premium pour. They do not come around every day... Cuba Libre just knows how to produce those reserve labels. He ALSO has already had a heart echo which was examined by a board-certified specialist... and we do this young to ensure the structure and valves are all normal and working properly. He passed of course.
If you believe you may be the right match, please email and answer every question below in full. Incomplete responses will not receive a reply. This is intentional… I am looking for the best fit for Angus, not the quickest placement.
1. Full name
2. Full Address (city/state too) and phone number
3. Have you owned a Maine Coon before? If yes, tell me about your experience and where you got him/her?
4. What animals currently live in your home? (Please include species, breed, ages, and personalities if applicable.)
5. Do you have children? If yes, please include ages.
6. Will you commit to continuing a wet-food-only diet for Angus which is what he is used to and loves? (This is a non-negotiable requirement and if you have another pet who eats only kibble... this may not be a match)
7. Describe your home environment?
8. How would you handle playful behaviors such as ankle biting, rough play, or boundary testing in a young, extremely playful kitten?
9. Please include a photo of yourself.
10. Please include a photo of the room where Angus would likely spend the most time.
11. Would you be driving to pick him up or flying into IAH?
We also have a few others who will have a happy hour. I may put another one up (female retiring - for free for the right home) after this one... or in a day or two. Can't decide. As a reminder, I will only put "We are going LIVE" on social media platforms so I don't get flagged on facebook/instagram/tiktok
